History
The legacy of the Uranaishi clan lies within the midsection of the Kazangakure war records as a statistic of loss. During the era of strife within Kazangakure where discord and savagery acted as the leading authority, the Uranaishi clan met a timely demise heralded by scorching sunlight.
Less than a decade ago, the Uranaishi were settled in an ash fed canyon at the base of a ring of fire. Their small number combined with efficient geography allowed for an extended period of prosperity through proficient harvest and territorial defense. The clansmen channeled the blessings of lunar radiance through the grotesque veins on their body, giving them strength in the face of adversity. However, everything changed when the obligatory references attacked. As Kazangakure descended into a cesspool of bloody riots and power struggles, the center-placed Uranaishi were among the first to fall victim to looting and unintentional genocide.
As the flames of civil war began to subside, the Uranaishi remnants emigrated to the outer edges of the continent. They found solace in the frigid snow blanketed steppes that provided a new means of sustainable life-- one that differed drastically from the previous lands that hosted the clan. In such a separated region, the Uranaishi split into a myriad of smaller villages across the frigid coasts with individual means of economical focus. Not only did this allow for them to saturate their own trade, but also let them remain largely un-contacted to the rest of the land.
Culture
The ragged residuum of the Uranaishi settled along the northern, arctic coast line of Kazangakure. The coasts of Kazangakure are typically frozen for the majority of the year, and the Uranaishi have adapted well to a life of wintry solace. Whether a village focuses on fishing, hunting, or minimalist crops, they serve an individual function that ties in to the clan’s greater whole.
They function as a municipality split villages with a different primary focus of livelihood depending on where one is stationed. One village focuses on raising the young and education where another is militaristic. The furthest south is heavily engaged in resource production where another is designed to sell those goods to their neighbors. It isn’t uncommon to move between villages several times within a few years.
Traits
The Uranaishi are born with thick, gnarled veins of scar tissue snaking down the skin of their back. At birth, the veins rest at the cerebrum and by elderly age, they will have wrapped down the shoulders and onto the belt line. The veins have several pores that can open to various sizes and emit a sparkling mist under moonlight as they absorb its luminescence.

+1 Potency
Ability
Luna Diviner
Type
Kekkei Genkai
Description
When bathing within the light of the moon, the bulging veins on the back begin to glow a stately gray. Pores on the veins begin to secret a sweat-like Chakra that takes the appearance of shimmering mist and expels itself from the back. This offers two effects.
- Caligo: The sparkling Chakra mist from the back takes on a mirror-like trait like minuscule fragments of broken glass. While the mist spreads, it hampers the effects of Doujutsu. The more Chakra mist in the area, the more Doujutsu are affected. If movement is made within a cloud of the mist, it can be sensed to a minor degree, and skilled practitioner (higher rank) can more accutley sense movement within the mist
- Luna Diviner: The veins on the user's back are capable of managing the amount of sweat-like mist that escapes from the porous holes on the back. During this state, the body becomes more agile and more potent in physical force, effectively enhancing the physical state. The user can manipulate the expulsion of the mist and control the energy created like an engine, allowing enpowering in various ways depending on the user’s intent. The more practiced the user, the stronger the effects. (1 stat at B rank, 2 stats at A rank, 3 stats at S rank can be freely allocated to any stat with 1 Chakra cost at B, 2 at A, and 3 at S, depending on rank)
- Bodily effects: The veins on the user's back are extremely stiff and strong, capable of taking much harder hits than the rest of the body. The thick, gnarled scar tissue on the back can act as a minor resistance against physical force. In addition, the Chakra expelling from the back rapidly drains Chakra reserves. This ability can only be used sparingly or in short bursts, as the Chakra loss can be considered extreme in extended use.
D-Rank: Caligo (1 Chakra per post) C-Rank: Caligo (1 Chakra per post) B-Rank: Caligo + Luna Diviner (B rank cost) A-Rank: Caligo + Luna Diviner (A rank cost) S-Rank: Caligo + Luna Diviner (S rank cost)
