Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked  up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32. The standard chunk of Lorem Ipsum used since the 1500s is reproduced below for those interested. Sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 from "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" by Cicero are also reproduced in their exact original form, accompanied by English versions from the 1914 translation by H. Rackham.
One morning, when Gregor Samsa woke from troubled dreams, he found himself transformed in his bed into a horrible vermin. He lay on his armour-like back, and if he lifted his head a little he could see his brown belly, slightly domed and divided by arches into stiff sections. The bedding was hardly able to cover it and seemed ready to slide off any moment. His many legs, pitifully thin compared with the size of the rest of him, waved about helplessly as he looked. "What's happened to me?"  he thought. It wasn't a dream. His room, a proper human room although a little too small, lay peacefully between its four familiar walls. A collection of textile samples lay spread out on the table - Samsa was a travelling salesman - and above it there hung a picture that he had recently cut out of an illustrated magazine and housed in a nice, gilded frame. It showed a lady fitted out with a fur hat and fur boa who sat upright, raising a heavy fur muff that covered the whole of her lower arm towards the viewer. Gregor then turned to look out the window at the dull weather. Drops
So many little bits of stuff.

Nothing to See Empty
PostSubject: Re: Nothing to See   Nothing to See EmptyWed Oct 17, 2018 12:40 am

He found himself genuinely perplexed by his own position within the queue; he'd hardly even realized that a line had formed of people awaiting entrance into the village. It seemed that even years after the destruction of Iwagakure and the ridding of the ninja presence from within every minor nation the Land of Water yet brought in refugees by the dozens. And, as it had just so happened, he too came as a wayward soul with no place to call his own.

Iron had been destroyed.

Or it had... vanished?

Or he was banished?

To be perfectly frank, his memories surrounding that particular topic were hazy at best. He could neither remember nor envision a real threat to his homeland, at least so long as he still drew breath, and no news of the destruction or conquest of the Iron Realm spilled from anyone's lips even when he asked nicely. And yet some part of him continually told him that the land could no longer exist for dubious and unclear reason. What a... let down. The sheer absurdity of it all brought a small smirk whenever he so much as thought about it, though he rarely did anymore. He found himself too busy searching the ninja world for any semblance of meaning or life or interest at all.

The girl behind her spoke up and Jae rolled his mostly shielded eyes as she did but turned to glance at her over his shoulder, arms still casually draped compromisingly over his weapon, his sharp pupils taking in the woman. A nagging sensation in the back of his head kept trying to inform him that she was probably powerful, certainly a ninja, a more than a bit dangerous, but his sensibilities told him that all ninja were fundamentally the and weak because of it. Still, he combed over her himself and took in her... impressive physique and bizarre attire. Great, a furry.

He shifted, rather slightly, to face her sidelong, though more fully than before. The prongs of his trident pointed away from her, over his right shoulder. Could she feels its presence? Most ninja seemed to miss it, something which flabbergasted him. Nope, I don't think I am.

Tenya
Suishin [KKG]
Notoriety: 4
Medium Size
Kazangakure
HistoryCultureBorn in the shadow of the prestigious Uchiha clan, the Tenya grew into a war-savvy clan out of sheer necessity. While their numbers, fame, and power never touched that of their faux-rival, they excelled as a powerful unit of fighters thanks, in equal parts, to their unique bodies and extreme willfulness. While the clan would not formally state that the Uchiha are their rivals and it’s unclear how much these would-be foes care about the feud, many of the clan view the wielders of the Sharingan in a somewhat negative light.

Internally, the clan is hyper competitive due mostly to the nature of their bloodline. Because the occurrence rate of the kekkei genkai is so relatively low, children born with it are highly coveted and praised. Additionally, because the mutation has a large variance in how much it spreads across each individual, those with numerically higher amounts of siphons are typically viewed as more capable than those with less. On the other hand, females with fewer siphons are typically thought to be more beautiful and there is a high amount of pressure for both genders to have symmetrical vents. The striation, while physically obvious, has not created a full caste system though as hard work and skill can still trump even the most gifted with the blood.

While the low expression of the genes has caused some struggles in the clan, it has also caused some good. The genes appear to care little for the purity of the bloodline and, as such, the clan has not fallen into xenophobia (beyond the Uchiha) or inbreeding. External marriages are rather common, though generally the Tenya attempt to enfold the external group rather than lose one of their own.
DescriptionThe illustrious bloodline of the Tenya family manifests itself in a fairly low rate, even for pure born members. Roughly 40% of males and 20% of females exhibit the bloodline and, unfortunately, one cannot obtain it after birth.

The actual bloodline is visibly obviously to anyone who meets a Tenya as their body is covered in a collection of small “vents” and siphons from nearly all portions of their body, with the only consistent exceptions being the face and nether regions. These openings do not open into their actual body but instead connect only to their own, close network, though the clan possesses extra, internal tenketsu which innervate the system. Aesthetically, the vents vary from person to person, though they never protrude more than a few millimeters from the fresh.

This system of what are essentially tubes allow fluids to pass freely through the clansmen’s bodies. They passively create a field around them of sofly circulating fluid which extends no more than 2 millimeters off the end of their longest protrusion. This field does nothing on its own, can be viewed via doujutsu and the like, and is used in some clan specific techniques.

The clan member can, with the use of chakra, suck in and rapidly expel fluids around them in controlled jets or bursts to aid in their movement, most often used to increase their speed in controlled bursts. This has a number of uses ranging from simply running quickly to more advanced maneuvers like instantly changing direction or trajectory or going from resting to an accelerated speed much faster than a normal body could. Top-tier practitioners can enact extreme aerial stunts, stall their momentum, and move in unnatural ways.

Offensively, standard attacks see them temporarily boosting their striking speed just before impact, launching their attacking limb forward almost like a rocket. Higher skilled users can use the propulsion in reverse to emit a sudden shockwave from their vents, which adds power and slight range to their attacks. These kind of shockwave based attacks become common for older members but cause them to rebound away from their target, giving them a sort of hit-and-run method of attack. Typically, their taijutsu abilities scale more on potency than pure strength as they end up relying on their ability to accurately emit the shockwaves via their propulsion system.
